Fly, then continue by road
Zagreb brings a border crossing into the journey; Banja Luka keeps the onward route within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bihać needs an onward road plan as well as a flight or coach ticket. A city-centre room, a stay in Kulen Vakuf and an apartment near the Štrbački buk approach lead to different final journeys. Start with the address where you want to end the day.

Zagreb brings a border crossing into the journey; Banja Luka keeps the onward route within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The road route, crossing and hire-car permission need to fit the trip. Your travel documents and the vehicle’s permission are separate.
A Sarajevo coach takes much of the day. A room with agreed evening key collection matters if your chosen departure reaches Bihać late.
Zagreb Airport is a useful gateway to compare when the flight suits your trip, but the onward journey crosses from Croatia into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Include both countries in the hire-car permission and insurance arrangement, and use the entry guide for your travel documents.
Banja Luka Airport keeps the onward journey within Bosnia and Herzegovina. It publishes a Smiljić Company shuttle to the city centre and new coach station, at 12 KM each way. That reaches a departure hub; it does not deliver you to Bihać.
For a coach onward from Banja Luka, the separate departure and station connection need to work with the flight. A hire car or arranged transfer may suit a group or a stay outside Bihać. Compare the full journey, including bags, child seats, late arrival and the return leg.
For a ride to Bihać or an Una-area stay, prepare a transfer request. Give the pickup airport or station and your full accommodation address.
Centrotrans publishes Sarajevo–Bihać results including 07:30–14:10 and 13:30–20:10, shown as 6 hours 40 minutes and 72 KM. Departure times and prices depend on the travel date. Use the operator’s date search for the departure you will buy.
A flight into Sarajevo and a coach out of the city are separate bookings. The airport-to-station journey, baggage collection and any flight delay belong between them. A Sarajevo night can make an early coach workable; a late coach may move the Bihać arrival well into the evening.
The city tourism board gives Bihać’s main coach station as Put Armije Republike BiH, 77000 Bihać, with information on +387 37 311 939. It lists taxi ranks at the station, Trg maršala Tita and Bedem.
Use the full station name and your accommodation pin for a pickup. If the stay is at Orašac, Martin Brod or Kulen Vakuf, include that locality in the request. “Una” describes the river and park, not a single stop. Agree the fare and destination before a taxi leaves.
The Bihać and Una stay guide distinguishes town and river bases. Record the area you prefer and your room requirements in a stay outline.
ŽFBH’s published 2025/26 passenger table does not list a Sarajevo–Bihać through service. Plan that leg around a booked coach or road journey unless the railway supplies a suitable service for your date. The table does not settle every local or special train on the Una railway.
For a Zagreb approach, the Border Police crossing map is a starting point for the road route. Crossing conditions and vehicle permission are separate from the room booking. Keep your transport contact and accommodation address available offline.
A car can be useful for an Una stay with several outings. The car-hire guide covers the driver and contract questions; a car-hire request helps you set out the dates, collection point and vehicle requirements. For a Croatian pickup, permission to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of that rental.
