Day 1 · give Štrbački buk the camera time
Begin with a wide frame of the fall, then look at the tufa rock, water patterns and vegetation from the visitor path. A longer lens can isolate the smaller details without moving into the water or onto the barriers. The waterfall’s tufa formation is part of the subject, not a place to stand.
Bring a lens cloth, a cover for the camera bag and a way to keep the tripod clear of passing walkers. If you want a slower shutter speed, work from a permitted standing place and leave the path open. Several compositions at one area can be more satisfying than another drive.
The light and spray are part of the day’s conditions. The route does not promise dawn admission, an empty viewing area or a particular river flow. Obtain the day’s opening arrangements before making sunrise or sunset the reason for a departure.
