Lost property and missing baggage
For a missing checked bag, start with the arrival handler; for a coat left in a café, start with the café. A lost passport or payment card also needs action by its issuer while the search continues.

At Sarajevo Airport
Sarajevo Airport’s lost-and-found office lists +387 33 289 105 and lost-found@sarajevo-airport.ba. The office is in the customs zone; its public counter is the information desk in the Terminal B hall. Start at that counter or use the contact details.
The airport publishes arrived-baggage collection windows of 08:00–11:00 and 17:30–20:00. Once staff identify the item, agree the collection with them. These are collection times, not the office’s whole working day; delivery to another town needs a separate arrangement.
If a checked bag did not arrive
Keep the baggage-tag receipt and flight details. Before leaving, ask the airport office or airline’s appointed arrival handler for the missing-baggage report and reference. Give a reachable number and the address where you will stay, including an onward move.
The Sarajevo office also handles items left in aircraft and airport restaurants, toilets and waiting areas. It excludes the police-run security check before the gate. Tell the information desk when security was the location so it can direct the enquiry.
A bus, taxi or venue
For a bus or train, give the service date, departure, destination, ticket reference and seat or carriage. For a taxi, give the pickup time, receipt and car details. For a café, hotel or museum, name the time and room or area where you last saw the item.
Include the colour, brand and a distinctive feature, with a photograph if useful. If staff find it, agree the collection point and proof of ownership. Ask about their procedure before sending another person or arranging forwarding.
Protect a document, card or phone
For a passport, contact your consular service about replacement and onward travel. Report suspected theft to local police and keep any reference. Continue the search while the issuing authority explains the document you need for the next journey.
Protect a missing payment card through the issuer’s verified number or account controls. For a phone, use the device maker’s and provider’s official recovery guidance. Leave PINs, passwords and full document images out of public posts; send sensitive evidence only through a verified service channel.
A short lost-property message
“Hello. I lost [item, colour, brand and distinctive feature] on [date] at about [time]. I was on [service and direction, flight and seat, taxi plate] or at [venue and area]. My reference is [ticket or booking]. Please contact [name, reachable phone and email] if it is found.”
Send the note promptly to the operator or venue, keeping your own short timeline. If the phone is missing, a companion can help contact it or leave another reachable number. Ask staff what happens to uncollected property; holding periods vary.
Other airports and a prebooked ride
For Mostar, Banja Luka or Tuzla, use the airport guides to identify the airport and its passenger information. Send the search request to the responsible airport, airline or handler through its own contact.
For a prebooked ride, use the reference and responsible operator’s contact on your confirmation. For city transport, the Sarajevo tram, Banja Luka bus and Mostar bus guides help identify the operator.
