Parking in Sarajevo

A Sarajevo Old Town arrival is easier with a parking entrance saved alongside the room address. Telali, Trg Austrije and the Avdage Šahinagića garage are three starting points. Their OSG tariffs differ from nearby RAD street bays.

Parking prices and payment

OSG surface parks
3.50 KM an hour, bank card only. These have separate tariffs from nearby RAD bays.
Avdage Šahinagića garage
3.50 KM an hour; 70 KM daily ticket; open 24 hours.
RAD street bays
Zone I: 3 KM/hour, 30 KM/day. Zone II: 2 KM/hour, 15 KM/day. Zone III: 0.50 KM/hour, 5 KM/day, under the July 2026 decision.
Payment
OSG: entry ticket and bank card at the kiosk. RAD: follow the posted method; local SMS requires a successful confirmation.
Before walking away
Read the operator, zone, time limit and paid-until time. RAD daily street tickets exclude barrier parks.

Where to park

OSG lists Telali at Telali bb, Trg Austrije at Trg Austrije bb and the garage in Avdage Šahinagića. Compare each parking entrance and final walk with the address you want to reach. A pin for an Old Town room can lead towards a lane that does not suit a car arrival.

The same operator lists Zelenih beretki bb, Tekija čikma bb and Safvet-beg Bašagića bb. Its surface parks publish 24-hour opening except Safvet-beg Bašagić, which lists 07:00–23:00.

A short visit and an overnight cost differently

OSG’s surface parks cost a published 3.50 KM an hour, payable only by bank card. The Avdage Šahinagića garage lists 3.50 KM an hour, a 70 KM daily ticket and 24-hour opening. For an overnight, compare that daily cost with the space offered by your accommodation.

For a bay signed KJKP RAD, the July 2026 decision gives hourly street rates of 3 KM in Zone I, 2 KM in Zone II and 0.50 KM in Zone III. Daily street tickets are 30, 15 and 5 KM respectively, valid for 24 hours from purchase in the zone bought. That daily product excludes barrier parks.

Read the operator name beside the parking entrance. Telali’s OSG car park keeps its own tariff; a RAD street ticket bought nearby does not establish payment there.

Pay by the method offered at that location

At OSG, keep the entry ticket, use its QR code at the payment kiosk and follow the exit instructions. The operator’s parking-kiosk FAQ describes tapping or inserting a bank card. For a problem, OSG lists +387 33 529 711 and +387 62 765 389; have the ticket and parking name ready.

RAD uses 0832001 for Zone I and 0832002 for Zone II. Text the registration without spaces or special characters and retain the successful confirmation. Its SMS service is described for BiH mobile operators; a posted alternative is a better starting point with a foreign SIM.

Free street periods do not mean every car park is free

RAD street charging runs Monday–Saturday: 07:00–22:00 in Zone I and 07:00–20:00 in Zones II and III. Sundays, state holidays and the first day of religious holidays are uncharged for those streets. Its barrier parks charge separately during 00:00–24:00.

OSG parks keep their own rules. Before walking into the old quarter, save the paid-until time and parking entrance. If stairs, a gradient or a garage lift matter, ask about the pedestrian exit and onward route as part of the parking choice.

Arriving with bags, or finding a parking notice

For a late arrival, agree the luggage drop and overnight space with your accommodation before navigating. Use a marked bay, avoiding loading areas, entrances and reserved spaces; a parking payment cannot override a permit or maximum-stay restriction. If you leave the car for the day, the Sarajevo tram guide helps you plan the onward journey and return.

RAD describes vehicle removal and payment at its Ciglane tow point. If the car has been moved, use the operator’s instructions for that case rather than paying a new street ticket. Keep the location and any notice or ticket together.
