Airport transfers

After a late flight, a pre-arranged pickup can make the journey to your stay less fiddly, especially with children or several bags. The destination might be a hotel entrance, an apartment’s key-collection point or an address outside the city.

Does your arrival need a private pickup?

For a straightforward solo arrival, an airport bus or taxi may suit you. Start with the guide for your airport: our Sarajevo arrival guide compares the practical choices there.

A private pickup becomes more useful when the party wants to travel together, the stay is beyond the city or someone needs a particular boarding arrangement. Give the full drop-off address. A hotel entrance, apartment key collection and vehicle drop may be different places.

Booking your transfer

Before choosing a pickup, note the airport, flight number, arrival date and destination, plus the passengers and bags. Discuss a child seat, pushchair or mobility requirement with the operator; enough seats do not always mean enough luggage space.

Check the responsible operator, meeting point, passenger and luggage arrangement, price inclusions and travel-day contact before agreeing a transfer. Availability belongs to the particular airport, route and date. Keep the confirmed journey, price and terms together.

When a flight changes

Waiting and delays are part of the transfer agreement. Your confirmation explains the agreed arrangements, including any waiting charges and how to reach the responsible operator if the flight or destination changes.

Keep that contact and the accommodation address available offline. If you need a return transfer, send the departure flight separately: its pickup time needs to work with the airport’s requirements and the road journey.

One arrival, or the start of a longer route?

Use the trip-planning guide to bring the flight and destination details together. If the holiday continues through several overnight bases, compare the later legs with private transport and the wider route with complete-trip planning.

To prepare for a pickup enquiry, add the journey to your trip outline with the flight, arrival date and time, passengers, luggage and full destination address.
