Stops for a city visit
Latinska ćuprija serves the Latin Bridge area, Vijećnica the Town Hall area, and Baščaršija the Old Town terminus. Skenderija serves the museums and riverfront. Choose the stop closest to the start of your Sarajevo visit.
For the railway station, check lines 1 and 4 in the public timetable. From Ilidža, Vrelo Bosne still needs an onward journey to the park entrance.
Find the return stop
The central stops differ by direction. Towards Baščaršija, line 3 includes Skenderija, Drvenija, Latinska ćuprija and Vijećnica. Towards Ilidža, the list includes Katedrala, Banka and Park.
Check the return direction in the public timetable and confirm the boarding place on the street or with the operator. The platform need not be opposite the stop where you arrived.
Which ticket to buy
Use a tram ticket for the tram journey. Before choosing a day ticket or connecting to a bus or trolleybus, ask which services and operators it covers.
Buy at a kiosk, or from the driver where that option is offered. Keep your ticket after validation.
Check an evening tram’s destination
Some evening trams finish at Remiza before reaching Ilidža. Check the destination displayed on the vehicle and the timetable for your return. The taxi guide helps when the tram does not cover the last part of the journey.
Accessible boarding
Ask the operator about your boarding stop, destination and intended departure, including the platform approach, vehicle and assistance. The accessibility guide and assistance contacts help you prepare.
Bags and busy trams
Let people off before boarding, keep the doorway clear and follow priority-seat signs. Ask about carriage before bringing a bicycle or bulky equipment. For several large cases, consider a pre-arranged transfer.
